Connection.

From copywriting in a women’s lifestyle podcast’s brand voice, to managing outward communication for an indie press, I thrive on connecting with an audience.

Remote Internship, Almost 30 Podcast

Almost 30 is a top wellness, spirituality, and self development podcast for women.

Initially contracted as a fall Editorial Intern, I proposed staying on through the following summer in an expanded role.

Responsibilities included research, curation, writing, editing, content creation, podcast production, digital courses and newsletters.

I then focused on editing, proofreading, giving feedback on content, adjusting pieces to meet the brand standard, blog posts, and other related editorial, administrative, and clerical projects.

I am thrilled to recommend Rory. Rory was a graduate student and Marketing & Publicity Manager at Ooligan Press 2023-2025, and I had the joy of being Rory's academic advisor and instructor during that time. One of Rory's strengths is that she is a generalist and can jump in and do a variety of different tasks with high competency. She won the Dennis Stovall award, an annual award for a stellar book publishing graduate student, because of her skills in so many different areas: marketing, design, and editing. Rory is curious, always looking for opportunities and eager to learn new things. She was a student on the book publishing Scotland study abroad that I lead, and she asked insightful questions in our tours and workshops and filled up her free time to maximize her experience and soak up Edinburgh. She put her photography skills to good use for Ooligan book launch events as well. The majority of work in Ooligan Press and the program is in groups, and Rory is exceptional at working in a team: she has a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and gets along well with other people. If you're thinking of working with Rory, do it!
